For the past 5 years I have been a leader on a wonderful camp for middle school students. The camp introduces students to Yellowstone National Park. The students who attend all live within the Yellowstone bioregion, but many have not had the opportunity to learn about the wild, geologic, and human history of this complex and amazing place. For the t-shirt illustration for the participants, I chose a three panel design to represent the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, a geothermal feature, and an osprey. I did the design on white clayboard and painted on with india ink and scratched away with a knife. I like how scratchboard can have a woodblock print feel.
